A version for Windows 8 is also planned for the third quarter of 2013. Royal Revolt! is a Reverse Tower Defense Game for the latest smartphones and tablets, and available for free in the Apple AppStore, Google Play and the Amazon App Store for Android. To date, Royal Revolt! has been downloaded 4.5 million times and has an average user rating of five out of five stars. It was developed by Keen Flare, a joint venture between flaregames and keen games. The Mac version is coming in glorious HD with upgraded graphics and specially adapted controls for the mouse. The price point is €3.59 ($3.99 in the U.S.), and players will receive a package of in-game currency, known as Gems, for use in the game.
The colorful and humorous Royal Revolt! is about a young prince, who after the death of his father, the king, had his kingdom stolen by some evil and nasty relatives. With simple and intuitive control, the player directs the Prince through beautifully designed levels while helping him conquer the many strongholds and regain the kingdom.

Royal Revolt! and Lost Chronicles coming in September 2012 Mobile games company flaregames, today announced two new titles, just before the upcoming Gamescom convention in Cologne next week. Royal Revolt! and Lost Chronicles will be available in September of this year for iPhone and iPad. Lost Chronicles will also be available at launch for Android devices.

“With our first two games, Ocean Tower and BraveSmart, we were able to set the bar for our company as the titles have been downloaded almost 1.5 million times and have reached No. 1 AppStore positions in many countries,” said Klaas Kersting, CEO of flaregames. “Royal Revolt! and Lost Chronicles will build on the achievements of our previous games and leverage the knowledge we gain daily as we operate these titles and continue to add features and improvements. We expect more than one million downloads per game this year."

About Royal Revolt!

Royal Revolt! is a humorous 3D game in the emerging reverse tower-defense genre. As a young prince, the player is up against his uncles and aunts, who after the death of his father, have stolen the kingdom from his grasp. The game puts the player in control of a small army that must be successfully sent into the field to reach the objective past a number of defensive structures. The levels feature swords and sorcery as the player moves from castle to castle, conquering the defenses across more than 30 beautiful levels.

Royal Revolt! is the first game being developed by Keen Flare, flaregames recently announced joint venture with keen games based in Frankfurt, Germany.

About Lost Chronicles

Lost Chronicles is an innovative adventure Role-Playing Game (RPG), and an interactive comic as well, where the player decides the progress of the story through his actions.. The player travels as a member of a secret society from the 1930s through Europe to rescue lost mystical artifacts from an evil power.

Both games will be available as "Free to play" titles, where the entire games can be played for free, but players have the option of unlocking certain items and services within the games via micro-transactions.

The new company is based in Frankfurt am Main; managing directors are Klaas Kersting (flaregames) and Pete Walentin (keen games). Flaregames holds 51 percent of the shares in the joint venture and keen games holds the remaining shares.

keen has deployed a team of ten developers to start in the new company and is providing a substantial knowledge transfer in technology and game design to the entity. flaregames is bringing its deep knowledge in the fields of analytics and monetization for free-to-play games. The Karlsruhe-based mobile games company will also be responsible for the publishing of the new games, i.e. marketing, distribution, PR and promotion.

Games will be based on the proven “free-to-play” business model where games are free, but offer players the option to purchase services and items within the game to enhance the game experience or accelerate gameplay.
